The $150 million Live! by Loews-Arlington, TX officially opened Aug. 22. A joint venture of Loews Hotel & Co—a wholly owned subsidiary of Loews Corp.—The Cordish Cos. and the Texas Rangers owns the hotel.
“This opening marks a significant milestone for us as we continue to make deliberate investments and strategically grow the company, adding five additional hotels over the course of the next 10 months in Orlando, Texas and Missouri,” said Jonathan Tisch, CEO/chairman of Loews Hotels & Co. “Live! by Loews-Arlington, TX not only represents our return to the Texas market, but also allows for us to bring the Loews history and heritage in hospitality to Arlington’s entertainment district.”
The 300-room property is part of a larger $1.25 billion endeavor to build up Arlington’s stadium district. This effort also includes the Texas Rangers’ new Globe Life Field stadium, opening spring 2020, and the dining and entertainment development Texas Live!, which opened August 2018. The new resort is within walking distance of the Texas Rangers’ Globe Life Park, the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium and the Arlington Convention Center.
The 14-story resort offers five food-and-beverage venues: artisanal grab-and-go shop River Market, all-day dining concept Cut & Bourbon, lobby lounge Bar Bourbon, outdoor mixology lounge Arlington Clover Club and swim-up bar Soak. Other features include more than 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, a fitness center, an outdoor infinity pool, an event lawn and a private rooftop terrace.
Manhattan Construction Co. and Arlington-based Con-Real constructed the property via a joint-venture. HKS Architects Hospitality Studio designed it in collaboration with Mycoskie+Mcinnis+Associates, Purdy-McGuire and McLaren Engineering Group.
