North Carolina Hotel Indigo opens in historic building

The Hotel Indigo Winston-Salem Downtown is open in North Carolina in the historic Pepper Building. The 1928 art deco landmark, on the National Register of Historic Places since 2014, now features 75 guestrooms, almost 1,600 square feet of meeting space and a restaurant.

The new hotel is owned by Mayfair Street Partners under a licensing agreement with IHG Hotels and Resorts and management contract with Aimbridge Hospitality. Omega Construction served as general contract for the project. CHMW Architecture was brought on to redesign the building.

The hotel debuted the Sir Winston Wine Loft & Restaurant, named in recognition of the original Sir Winston restaurant, which occupied the location for more than 20 years. The farm-to-table restaurant serves a mix of Southern and European cuisine.
